Because the things that you hear, see, touch, taste and smell are not faith-based and are much easier to believe and live by.
Because you have to make yourself believe when it does not seem real.
Because the Bible goes against the actions, words and thoughts of most people in society.
Because you cannot rely on your ability so you do not get the credit.
Because you are just tired fighting the Devil.
Because God does not really care what happens to you or what you do.
Because life is not fair.
Because you have waited long enough on God
Because you fear the unknown.
Because God is unpredictable. You know what you want and He may not give it to you.
Because God never tells you what He is doing.
What the Bible Says About Faith
Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Place your faith (strong belief) within the Lord all your inner man (heart) not supported your own conclusions (understanding). The life of the outer man is the self, and the life of the inner man is Christ. When it comes to practicing our faith, we are instructed to use all of our inner man with no involvement from the outer man.
Ephesians 2:8, 9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Paul states that through the loving kindness (grace) God will rescue, heal (save) us if we place (through) our strong belief (faith) within Him and nothing (not) from ourselves. Our rescue is not from our efforts in that we have no glory (boast)
2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight:
Paul teaches us that Christians do not walk (Change our life, Control our life, Conduct our life, or Continue in our life) by what we perceive to know (sight) but by our strong belief (faith).
Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Without strong belief (faith) impossible (unable to be done) to please God, because to draw near to God use must have faith that He is present (is) strong belief that he has not forsaken you, He is there for you. To draw near God you must have the strong belief that God rewards (pay what is due) those who work to know Him (seek Him).
1 John 5:4 - For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Every Christian that has unwavering strong belief in God is victorious over the ungodly multitudes, temptations, and persecutions.
Mark 9:23 - Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Mark 11:23 - For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Matthew 17:20 - And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Luke 17:6 - And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
What did Jesus teach about faith? 1. If it is possible for you to have faith (believe) the whole thing is possible (likely to be able) for you. 2. Any Christian that does not withdraw (doubt) from strong belief (faith) within their inner man (heart) that what they say becomes true. Then what ever they say will come true. 3. Your faith does not have to be quantity (amount) but quality (superiority). Can what you have faith in preform what I ask of it?
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Paul simply declares the definition of true faith: It is the existences of real qualities to wait, the conviction that is done when one cannot perceive it.
Psalms 40:4 - Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Happy is a man who places His faith in the Lord and not turn to defiant (proud) or fall for the lie of the deceitful.
Hebrews 13:5, 6 - Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Paul instructs us that how we live our lives is to be without greed. As a matter of fact we are to be strong (content) with what we have. How many times we are weakened by the fact we do not have what we want? We forget the promise: I will never leave (desert, send back, give up on, let sink) thee, nor forsake (leave helpless) thee. Instead with courage you declare the Lord is your helper (savior) and you will not fear what happens to you.
1 Peter 1:7 - That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Peter states that we prove our faith in God when we perish (are destroyed, rendered useless) and endure the flames of hardship in the power of God and not in our own power. The fires it will make us precious, praise worthy, a glory to God. When was the last time you have proven your faith in God?
Habakkuk 2:4 - Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Hebrews 10:38 - Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. When a Christian is lifted in pride he becomes unleveled, unstable (not upright) but a Christian is to live firm, stable, strong, certain, but if we cower in fear, become timid (draw back) then God is not so ready to do good to us.
Romans 8:37 - Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Christians standing firm in the power of God do not just defeat sin, our enemies, our trials, but we vanquish them decisive, annihilate them, and subdue them.
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Galatians 5:6 - For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Faith without practice (work) is worthless. Faith that does not operates (worketh) by love is powerless.
Matthew 13:58 - And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
